Romantic Newburyport Lighthouse Restaurant
Searching for a romantic and illuminating dinner in a Lighthouse?
Look no further than the Newburyport Rear Range Lighthouse for a endearing experience and a memorable meal priced at $350 per couple! Reservations are needed months in advance due to the popular 6-hour long romantic evening dining experience.
Romantic couples enjoy a cozy dinner in the Lantern Room 55-feet above the the Merrimack River with incredible views of Newburyport Harbor. This unique Lighthouse Restaurant is popular for marriage proposals, anniversaries, and special occasions.
No doubt, you may be asking why this romantic evening is priced from $350 per couple to $600 for four people which is the maximum table seating? According to James Hyland, President of the Lighthouse Preservation Society, the Lighthouse Restaurant is a fund raiser for restoring the Newburyport Range Lights and the distinctive harbor side restaurant features gourmet cuisine served from 5pm to 11pm by waitresses who climb 55 winding steps and a steel ladder balancing and carrying meals to your exclusive Lantern dining room.
Each multi-course gourmet dinner is prepared at one of five Newburyport’s finest restaurants serving New England cuisine like crab cakes and seafood dishes which may require the modern day Light-keeper waitress up to 16 trips up and down the brick Tower to serve the Lighthouse Lovers!
The seasonal Lighthouse Restaurant is open from May 1st to October 31st and interested Lighthouse Lovers can call James Hyland at (800) 727-BEAM for reservations before the 2008 season is fully booked!

Hi Linda,
My guess would be a 20% tip minimum…the total cost of this romantic dinner evening is $420!
We may plan this rare dinning experience for our 35th wedding anniversary.

I guess if one were to make their reservations months in advance it would then give one time to come up with the cost of the dinner! What does one tip for a $350 dinner where the waitstaff has to navigate so many stairs??
Linda’s last blog post..Happy Birthday to Gerard Way!
