Gloucester is a new Port of Call for Cruise Liners
America’s oldest Fishing port and oldest art colony has become a Cruise ship destination after the Port of Boston was closed during 9-11. The Gloucester Marine Terminal, located on the old Perkins Wharf, opened in Spring 2007 as a Cruise Port.
Cruise Line passengers can view Eastern Point Lighthouse and Ten Pound Lighthouse in the harbor. Both Lighthouses were featured in the 1999 movie, The Perfect Storm.
The Seaborn Pride, a ultra-luxury cruise ship docks at the Lighthouse-style cruise ship terminal where 208 passengers can enjoy a a seven-day cruise to New England and Canadian ports ending in Quebec. According to Seabourn Cruise Line, a ten-day cruise has been scheduled for September 29, 2007.
